The Vice-Chancellor of Fiji National University, Prof. Nigel Healey has resigned from his post after three and a half years of service.
FNU Chancellor and Chair of Council Dr. Rajesh Chandra says Prof. Healey decided to relocate back to the United Kingdom due to a recent change in his family circumstance.
Prof. Healey’s resignation will be effective 31st March 2020.
Prof. Healey joined FNU on the 1st August 2016 and the Council had recently renewed his contract for a further term.
Chandra says Prof. Healey has been an outstanding Vice-Chancellor and an important part of the FNU family and has rationalized and modernized the university’s core learning, teaching and research systems and processes.
He says Prof. Healey has built a very good team and cultivated a positive relationship with staff and students as well as with the stakeholders.
In the period from Prof. Healey’s departure and the arrival of the new Vice-Chancellor, an Acting Vice-Chancellor will be appointed by the Council.
