Taxi driver pleads not guilty to abduction of 17-year-old girl

A 42 year old taxi driver has pleaded not guilty to the charge of abduction of a person under the age of 18 years with intention to have sexual intercourse.

Rasil Prasad took his plea before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar this morning.

Prasad allegedly abducted a 17 year old girl in Nasinu on the 1st of April this year.

The state lawyer has advised the court that they will call four witnesses.

Prasad's trial will start on 26th August.
