Close to 50 pre‑school students will benefit from a new and modern kindergarten complex at the Seaqaqa Primary School from next year.
School Head Teacher Sunil Dutt says the community organised a week long carnival to raise funds to construct a new complex.
Dutt says their target was to collect $60,000 but they have raised $124,000.
He says the complex will include a separate tea room, playing facilities and a waiting room for those parents who wait for their children at the school.
Dutt says they have started the pre‑school service from this year under a temporary shed and the parents requested the committee for a separate classroom after which the carnival was held which ended successfully yesterday.
The construction work on the new kindergarten is expected to commence in a few weeks and is expected to be ready before the first term next year.
