Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama led a team of government officials on a tour to parts of Ba and Rakiraki that were affected by torrential rain and flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie over the weekend.
Bainimarama was accompanied by the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment Parveen Kumar and the Assistant Minister for Agriculture Viam Pillay as well as the Divisional Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau together with officials from various government agencies.
He commended the affected communities for their resilience and bravery during this time of despair as many lost their homes and belongings and some even their loved ones.
Bainimarama also visited Xavier College in Ba that was also affected by the flooding.
