It was a memorable moment for the Prasad family from Narere when Shristi Prasad the head girl of Narere Primary School was awarded dux of 2015.
For her father Kamlesh Prasad it was an even more special occasion as her daughter had achieved something which he could not accomplish while being the head boy of Narere Primary school in 1989.
He says sending her only daughter to a multicultural school such as Narere Primary was important in building her to be independent.
Prasad says it is a proud and special moment for his family.
Shristi Prasad also walked away with five subject prize awards and the 2015 school leadership award.
She says balancing the leadership role which she had in the school with her studies was a challenge and the support from friends and family was important.
She plans to pursue a career in accounting after she finishes secondary school at Rishikul Sanatan College in five years time.
