LTA received a total of 692 taxi permit applications so far in 3 zones in the Western Division

The Land Transport Authority has received a total of 692 taxi permit applications so far in 3 zones in the Western Division.

LTA started receiving new taxi permit applications for the Nadi 1, Nadi 2 and Lautoka 1 transport zones from last Thursday at the Girmit Center in Lautoka.

It says hundreds of applicants who experienced the processes at the Center, revealed that they were happy and keen at making their applications, knowing that they received a fair chance of applying.

LTA Board Chairperson Vijay Maharaj has also highlighted incidents whereby people with more than $20,000 household income came to make applications and had their applications declined.

He says apart from this, officers also received applications with duplicate photo IDs and these were also rejected.

LTA has resumed receiving applications for the Nadi 1, Nadi 2 and Lautoka 1 transport zones from today.

List of Zones:

Nadi 1: Momi Bay Junction, Yako up to Nadi Town Bridge.

Nadi 2:  Nadi Town Bridge, Namotomoto, Navoci, Nakavu, Saunaka,  Nadi Airport, Martintar, Namaka, Votualevu, Naisoso, Sabeto,

Lomolomo.

Lautoka 1: Barara, Lomolomo, Veiseisei, Saweni, Lauwaki, Wairabetia,, Velovelo, Taperia, Natabua, Field 40, Navutu, Lautoka City.
