Australia's Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells will make her first official visit to Fiji tomorrow.

Wells says that she will reaffirm Australia's commitment to supporting Fiji's longer‑term recovery and reconstruction following Tropical Cyclone Winston.

She confirms that she will travel to Ra to meet the people to see how Australia's assistance is supporting Fiji's recovery and reconstruction work, and helping people get back on their feet.

Wells also confirms that she will be visiting Rakiraki schools with Education Minister Mahendra Reddy, the Rakiraki Market with Minister for Local Government Praveen Bala and officially open the Ra Naari Parishad Office with Minister for Women, Rosy Akbar this Friday.

She says that she looks forward to meeting both Australian Defence Force and Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel to discuss their experiences working together to support Fiji's immediate response to the cyclone.

Wells says that she will also meet government ministers to reaffirm Australia's strong and enduring friendship with Fiji, which is based on extensive people‑to‑people links and important trade and investment ties.

Minister Wells is visiting Vanuatu before she comes to Fiji.
