As part of their ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, ANZ Fiji has handed over the Lautoka Hospital's newly refurbished pediatric oncology unit to the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Rosy Akbar.
The renovations worth $15,000 includes the cleaning, painting, decorating and replacement of curtains and furniture of the oncology rooms within the paediatric unit.
Speaking at the official handing over event at Lautoka Hospital, Akbar acknowledged ANZ Fiji for its commitment and partnership towards the development of health services in Fiji.
She says that since 2005 the ANZ Fiji Staff Foundation together with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services along with community partners have refurbished a number of wards across the country in Suva, Nausori, Savusavu and Labasa.
The Health Minister commended the efforts of ANZ Fiji and said that the refurbishment will add to the quality care and comfort provided to those children and their families who seek services at the Lautoka Hospital.
The hospital's Paediatric Oncology unit currently provides care for 17 patients of which 16 of them are on treatment or have completed treatment while 1 is on palliative care.
