Work begins on $2.3M football pitches in Labasa

Players, coaches, and football enthusiasts in the Northern Division will soon have access to top-quality facilities with the development of two football pitches at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Labasa.

Fiji FA has officially awarded the Labasa Academy Ground Development Project to Heritage Fiji Ltd.

Fiji FA says the $2.3 million project is funded through the FIFA Forward programme and is expected to commence in August.

Fiji FA President, Rajesh Patel says this is a significant step forward for football development in the North.

He says with the completion of these grounds they aim to provide better training and facilities to their players and has thanked FIFA for their support.

The Association also says it has appointed Shivas Singh, the Director of Shiri Singh & Associates Pte Ltd, as the Project Engineer and Consultant to oversee the project’s implementation and ensure it meets the required standards.
