We have not been consistent enough in the way we play and we have lost opportunities and games that we should have won.
This was highlighted by Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau as they prepare for this weekend’s HSBC Hong Kong 7s.
Kolinisau emphasised that defence wins championships and that is one issue that he is trying as a coach to help his players solve.
He says he wants to give the players ownership of the team and get them to trust the process they have.
He adds he wants to let them know that they can trust in that process when pressure comes.
Kolinisau says he has always reminded his players that they can win games with attack but defence wins them championships.
He says Fiji is known as a team that can attack and he wants them to be known as a team that can defend as well.
He adds that is something they want to build upon and make sure they get sharper on.
Kolinisau says they are not there yet as they are just scratching the surface.
