Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lock Etonia Waqa

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua lock Etonia Waqa has made it into the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific Fantasy Team of the Week for the second consecutive time following his impressive performance over the weekend after coming off the bench in the second spell.

Waqa made a strong statement when he came off the bench which included an individual effort long-range try.

The 25-year-old received the ball from deep inside the Drua’s territory after a quick throw-in by Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, and he dashed down the middle of the park beating several defenders before selling a dummy in front of Crusaders’ James O’Connor which definitely caught him off-guard.

Waqa’s try was also tagged as one of the tries of the weekend.

Waqa came into the match in the 53rd minute and ran a total of 70 metres in 4 carries, beating 4 defenders.

Meanwhile, the Drua have the slimmest of chances of making the top 8 as they sit at the bottom of the table with 7 points and 7 more games remaining in the round-robin competition.

The Drua will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday in Dunedin, in round 9 of the Super Rugby Pacific.

In other matches this weekend, the Hurricanes will play the Crusaders at 7.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will take on the Chiefs at 9.35pm Friday, the Blues will host Moana Pasifika at 4.35pm Saturday, and the Reds will play the Brumbies at 9.35pm Saturday.
