Swire Shipping Fijian Drua star winger Selestino Ravutaumada was glad to be back playing after missing out on the first three rounds of this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific due to recovery from an injury he suffered last season.
Ravutaumada made his first 2025 appearance last week against the Chiefs helping his side claim a 28-24 win in Lautoka.
The 25-year-old says watching from the sideline during the first three matches this year and seeing the Drua falling short was tough.
He says it was also tough for him on his road to recovery and he was excited to have been able to make his comeback, and adds that there is no better way to make a comeback than to get a win in front of the home fans.
Meanwhile, winger Ponipate Loganimasi was voted the fijivillage Fan Player of The Match after a brilliant performance against the Chiefs over the weekend.
He was nominated alongside young flyhalf Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula and Kitione Salawa, where he accumulated 68.4 percent of the votes received.
Loganimasi had some exceptional moments in the match against the Chiefs, one of which was scoring a try under the crossbar in the second half through an individual brilliance after setting up a try earlier for fullback Vuate Karawalevu.
The Drua now turns their focus to this week’s clash against the Brumbies.
They will take on the Brumbies at 8.35pm Friday in Canberra.
In other matches this week, the Highlanders will play the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Friday, the Crusaders will take on the Western Force at 3.35pm Saturday, the Chiefs will battle the Blues at 6.05pm Saturday, and the Reds will play the Waratahs at 8.35pm Saturday.
