Fiji Water Flying Fijians prop and Swire Shipping Fijian Drua new signing Peni Ravai says he is grateful to be back home and playing for his home team for the upcoming Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season and he is excited about this opportunity.
The 34-year-old was signed from the Queensland Reds after spending 2 Super Rugby Pacific seasons and securing 27 caps with them.
Ravai says it is great to have come back and play for his home team after 10 years.
He says when he was playing for the Reds, it was always a tough task facing the Fijian Drua.
In terms of development of rugby in Fiji, Ravai says it's getting better every year.
He says from first year till now, he feels there is a lot of changes and a lot of improvement.
Meanwhile, the Sun Bell Fijian Drua 10s competition was held yesterday at Churchill Park in Lautoka and was won by the Fijian Drua Blue after beat Fijian Drua Green 14-5 in the final.
The Fijian Drua's first match is against the Brumbies at the HFC Bank Stadium on the 15th of February, 2025.
