The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s won their final match at the HSBC Perth 7s this afternoon after defeating Great Britain 26-17 in the 9th-place playoff.
Vika Nakacia and Kelerayani Luvu scored a try each in the first half to help put Fiji in a 14-12 lead at halftime.
The girls were composed in the second half, with Luvu scoring her second try to increase Fiji’s lead to 21-12.
Ellie Boatman got one back for Great Britain to close the gap to 21-17.
Great Britain continued to attack Fiji’s territory, but the Fijiana's defence stood tall.
Silika Qalo sealed the win for the Fijiana as she powered her way to the try line.
Looking at another result, Spain defeated Ireland 24-12 in the 11th-place playoff.
New Zealand will face France in the first women’s cup semi final at 7.49pm, and hosts Australia will play Canada at 8.11pm, with the cup final kicking off at 12.11am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Men’s 7s team will face France at 9.27 tonight in the 5th-place playoff.
