The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side will need to lift their performance and work on their defence today if they want to make the quarterfinals of the Perth 7s.
This is after Fiji were upset by Uruguay 24-17 in their first pool match and a close 21-14 win against Kenya.
Head coach Osea Kolinisau, has been transparent that his focus this season is on "defensive shape and fitness."
Unfortunately, defence is the very thing that is letting Fiji down, as lapses in concentration is how the opposition is able to slip through and score.
Fiji also needs to work on their communication skills on the ground if they are to overcome rivals New Zealand who also lost to Uruguay 17-12 last night.
Fiji plays New Zealand at 4.22 this afternoon in their final pool match.
In other results, Argentina defeated Australia 31-26, South Africa beat the USA 24-19, and Spain beat Great Britain 12-7.
The Men’s Cup quarter finals will kick off at 9.27 tonight, the semi finals will be at 7.05pm tomorrow, and the cup final will kick off at 11.35pm tomorrow.
