Swire Shipping Fijian Drua CEO, Mark Evans says the academic journey for the 29 students who have signed their contracts with the Drua Academy is paramount and their studies will not be affected during the camp.
When fijivillage News asked if their academic journey would be affected, Evans said they will march into camp during their school breaks.
He says they will keep in touch with the various schools the contracted students attend to see if they are attending their classes and if their teachers report something different, they will lose their contract with the Drua Academy.
He says these players will be given a flavor of what professional rugby is about and they will be under the scope during their games for their respective schools.
He reiterates that they have six camps for the year and will focus on individual developments and staff conditioning, nutrition and individual skills during the first camp.
The CEO adds that they are providing a clear pathway for them to join the Flying Fijians team in the future.
