Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s new signing, Rusila Nagasau has set her sights on representing the Fijiana 15s side in this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup that will be held in England.
The 37-year-old says that is one of her main targets after joining the Drua vuvale.
Not only is she setting her sights on the white jumper for the World Cup, but Nagasau has also set her target of helping the Drua Women win back the Super W title that they lost last year.
Nagasau spent most of her career playing 7s rugby and represented the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side in the HSBC SVNS World Series, and was also part of the Fijiana 7s side that won bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
She also won silver with the Fijiana 7s at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Nagasau says the transition from 7s to 15s was not that hard because it is just rugby after all, and the only difference is the numbers on the field.
The Wailevu, Cakaudrove woman has now forced her way into the final 30-member Fijian Drua Women’s squad for the 2025 Super Rugby W season and hopes to get as much game time in the competition.
The Drua Women will kick start their 2025 campaign against the Waratahs on Friday 28th February 2025 at 5.05pm in Sydney.
