New Zealand thrashed the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team 41-7 in the Vancouver 7s final today asserting their dominance throughout the game and winning all contests in the final.
The loss has brought Fiji into the top eight in the points table and further extended New Zealand’s lead on the table with 76 points.
New Zealand scored eight tries with four in the first half to lead Fiji 22-0 at halftime.
In the second half, New Zealand scored another 19 points while Fiji managed to score a converted try from Sesenieli Donu to put them on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Men’s 7s lost to Spain 22-7 in the third place playoff.
Fiji is in third place in the points table with 62 points.
Argentina, who beat South Africa 19-12 in the final, leads the table with 68 points.
