Marist 7s: Police Blue and Devo Babas win strong super pool opener

The Police Blue 7s team made an impressive start this morning after defeating Post Shop Tabadamu 7-5, while Viti Roofing Devo Babas beat SR Ubuntu 19-14 in the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Super Pool round 1 competition held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

Police Blue coach, Sale Tubuna told fijivillage News that they started well in their first game by executing their game plan.

Tubuna says they are well prepared for the teams they face in the Super pools.

Fiji Airways 7s players, Suliano Volivoli and Pilipo Bukayaro were also part of the Police Blue team this morning.

In other results this morning, DXC Army Red beat Dimension Brothers Nadogo 12-5 in the opening match, while Nakavu Rugby defeated Yavirau 22-7, Dominion Brothers beat Nawaka 22-7 and Brother's 7s beating Bureta Young Boys 19-17.

Saint Gabriel Nakavika also started their game on a high note by thrashing Bula Ballers Vatukuro 17-0, Viwa Rugby beat Natumua Young Boys 12-7, VBL Dayals Black Herons defeated Plantation Island Resort 5-0, Lami Rugby beat Ravoravo 14-12, Rt Filise defeated Bayside Brothers 12-7, Uluinakau Babas defeating Police White10-5, Dimension Brothers Nadogo beat Marist 12-10, Nakavu Rugby thrashing Serua Cagivou 7s 15-0 and Nawaka outclassing Marist St Joseph Samoa 29-0.

Meanwhile, the women’s semifinal at 4.50pm will see Seahawks, Navy Women's, Striders and Lilians Amazon vying for a spot in the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Women's final this afternoon at 7.35pm.
