Do not get caught up with all the school rivalry and the hype leading up to the Coca-Cola Games.

This is the message by MGM High School coach Waliki Satakala to his athletes as they prepare for the meet.

Satakala says the athletes have been urged to be simple and stay focused on the task at hand.

Satakala says preparations for this year’s Coke Games started in September last year, they have been following the planned training schedules and they are now seeing the fruits of it.

He says there is a lot that the school and supporters will be expecting from the athletes but there is not much pressure being put on the athletes as whatever they can give on game day is what the management will be content with.

MGM will be fielding more than 50 athletes for this year’s Coca-Cola Games including sprinter Kesaia Bole-taka-nakadavu who will be looking to defend her senior girls’ blue ribbon title.

Last year, MGM won 3 gold and 1 silver in the boys division while they won 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze in the girls division.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from this Thursday to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium.
