A milestone achievement for Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captain Tevita Ikanivere as he was honoured as the 2024 Player of the Year at the Annual Pasifika Hall of Fame held in Auckland.
Ikanivere has been with the Drua since their inception into Super Rugby Pacific in 2022.
He won the award alongside Manusina Samoa skipper Masuisuimatama’ali’i Tauasa-Pauaraisa.
Ikanivere has been sidelined for the Drua’s match against the Highlanders tonight, and coach Glen Jackson has named Mesulame Dolokoto and Iosefo Masi to co-captain the team.
The Drua will face the Highlanders at 7.05 tonight at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.
In other matches, the Blues will host Moana Pasifika at 4.35pm today, and the Reds will play the Brumbies at 9.35 tonight.
