I want to clear that path for young Fijian footballers who want to play professional football overseas.

These are the words of Fijian wonder boy Roy Krishna as the team prepares for their first match of the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands tomorrow.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Krishna says it has not been an easy journey as there were difficult moments during his move to New Zealand but he is really happy with his achievements.

He says having his family around him is his biggest inspiration as they give him extra motivation to work hard.

Krishna says language barrier was a challenge when he first moved to New Zealand and New Zealand football was difficult to understand but he had good friends to help him in those hard times.

The national team captain says moving to India was a very difficult moment but had his family around while there were good players and coaches who taught him a lot.

The striker says he is really excited about the Pacific Games and only needs a good recovery and time to gel with the boys in camp.

Krishna says he does not have any injuries as he is very well looked after in India while fitness should not be an issue for him at the Pacific Games as he has joined the Fiji team camp while the Indian Premiere League continues.

He says his personal preparation was to make sure he stays fit and looks after himself.

He says it has been a while since he was part of the team and he is honored that the coach has picked him.

The Digicel Bula Boys take on the Northern Marianas at 8pm tomorrow.
