Rugby supporters and families of the South Darwin Rugby Union Club have organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the family of former Fiji 7s captain Setefano Cakaunivalu, who collapsed last Friday from a suspected heart attack.

The 46-year-old played for South Darwin in a Darwin A-Grade fixture against Casuarina at Skyring Rugby Park.

After the match concluded, Cakaunivalu returned to South Darwin's Warren Park clubhouse on foot, where he subsequently collapsed.

Reports indicate that members of the South Darwin community at the scene responded quickly, performing CPR on Cakaunivalu while emergency services were contacted.

Cakaunivalu was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The GoFundMe page is currently being established and will be shared across NT Rugby's social platforms.
