World-renowned 7s coach Mike Friday is impressed by how the local teams are playing so far in the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s that is currently underway in Lawaqa Park Sigatoka.
Friday says he loves the passion and the way that they play as they play with freedom, and they are very creative, and innovative, and are always prepared to take chances.
He says unfortunately if a player is not from Fiji, they get sucked into playing that way and then they get hurt.
Friday’s side the McDonald’s Mike Friday Select 7s edged past Brothers 17-14 in the third quarter final yesterday to book a semi final showdown against the Manu Samoa 7s side in the Men’s Cup semi final today.
The Fijian Drua 7s will take on the Fiji 7s in another semi final.
