13th player Sireli Maqala is up for selection for every game

Fiji men's 7s coach Gareth Baber says he will be selecting 12 out of 13 players for every game which means that the 13th player Sireli Maqala is up for selection for every game.

He says it is different for the Olympic Games because of issues with COVID-19.

Baber says the 13th player is now selectable per game.

The men’s Olympic 7s competition runs from tomorrow until Wednesday.

Fiji will begin their defence of the Olympic gold medal against Japan at 12pm tomorrow and then play Canada at 8pm tomorrow.

The national side will play Great Britain at 12.30pm Tuesday.

The quarterfinals will start at 8.30pm Tuesday, the semifinals will be played from 2pm Wednesday while the final will be played at 9pm Wednesday.
