The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women will host two matches in the 2025 Super Rugby Women’s competition after the games' schedules were released today.
The Drua will host the Reds in Lautoka on 8th March as part of an exciting double header at Churchill Park before they take on the Brumbies Women on the 15th of March as a standalone match at the same venue.
A top-two finish in the regular season will see the Drua Women host another potential semi-final in Fiji.
The 2025 season will also introduce a first-ever Super Rugby Champions final, with the winner of Super Rugby W taking on the winner of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki.
Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans says hosting two matches in Fiji next season is great for the Drua fans, who will no doubt be ready to roar for their Drua both at the doubleheader and the standalone matches.
Evans says the Fijian Drua Women obviously want to return to the winner’s podium in 2025 after winning the Supr Rugby Women’s title in 2022 and 2023 before finishing off as runners-up this year, but they know it will not be easy.
Evans adds they are in a rebuilding phase for their Women’s programme this year and they have a new Interim Head Coach who is working on building more depth and a bigger pool of players to draw from.
The Drua Women will kick off the season against the Waratahs at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney on the 28th of February.
The side then returns home for the matches against the Reds and the Brumbies.
They will play their final regular season match away against the Western Force at the HBF Park in Perth on March 23rd.
The Super Rugby W semi-finals will be held on the 5th of April, and the Grand Final will be held on Saturday the 12th of April with the crossover final between the Super Rugby Women’s and Super Rugby Aupiki Champions taking place on the 17th of April.
