The Fiji Men’s under 15 Basketball team have won their first game of the FIBA Men’s U15 competition after defeating Guam 85-82 in Canberra, Australia.
Fiji maintained their dominance in all the quarters of the game and did not allow Guam to win any quarter of the game.
The win was also a memorable one for debutant for Kalae Kenny.
The kiwi base student who plays guard two and three is the son of former Fiji Women's Basketball Captain Letava Whippy.
Team Manager Benedito Qumi told fijivillage News that Kenny played well and continued to show his maternal family legacy in basketball.
Qumi says they now shift their focus to the remaining matches.
Fiji’s next game is against New Caledonia at 4pm today.
