The Fiji Airways Men’s national 7s team have now failed to qualify for the quarter finals in three of the last four Dubai tournaments.

This is according to World Rugby.

Having beaten Uruguay 52-0 but suffered a 24-7 defeat to New Zealand in their second match, Fiji needed to beat Argentina by 10 points to progress, but they fell five points short of their target, winning 17-12.

Fiji will play Uganda at 5pm this afternoon in the 9th place play-off quarter final.

Meanwhile the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7’s team has qualified for the cup quarter final as the third best team from their pool.

They beat Japan 33-14 in the first pool match, they lost to Spain 14-21 and later lost to Ireland 17-24.

Fijiana will play Australia in the cup quarter final at 6.06pm this evening.
