Fiji U15 Women beats the Cook Islands 61-45 in first match of FIBA U15 Womens Oceania Comp

The Fiji Women’s under 15 side started their FIBA U15 Womens Oceania campaign on a high note after beating Cook Islands 61-45 in their first match yesterday.

Fiji dominated the first three quarters of the match while the Cook Islands took out the last quarter.

Fiji had the edge in the first quarter 15-13, 23-10 in the second quarter, and 11-6 in the third quarter before the Cook Islands had some redemption as they scooped the last quarter 16-12.

Fiji’s point guard Zara Suka played a pivotal role in the win as she scored 27 points in 35 minutes with 8 rebounds and had 27 points in efficiency throughout the match.

Fiji’s next game is against Tonga at 5.30pm today.

The FIBA U15 Women's Oceania competition is currently underway in Canberra, Australia.
