The Calmer Co, the name behind Fiji Kava, has joined forces with the Fiji Rugby Union to launch a new coconut water powder-infused kava product, which will see the FRU earn a 10 percent royalty on each product sold for the use of their logo.

FRU Chairman John Sanday says the packaging of the product has Fiji colours, reinforcing their identity as a symbol of national pride.

He says just as our teams represent Fiji on the global stage, this partnership ensures the brand reaches fans in new and meaningful ways.

Sanday says the branding not only celebrates our athletes, but also invites supporters to be to feel part of the Fiji rugby family.

Calmer Co CEO Zane Yoshida says they have infused high quality noble kava with dehydrated coconut water powder – which is a natural source of hydration and electrolytes, to support not only rest and relaxation, but also muscle recovery and overall performance.

He says this is kava for the modern athlete and for anyone who wants to recover well, live well and honour the traditions we all hold dear.

Yoshida further says the use of coconut water is a deliberate homage to something deeply Fijian as the coconut tree is known as the Tree of Life across the Pacific, and rightly so because it nourishes, heals and sustains, and just like rugby – it connects Fijians from all walks of life to the FRU.

He adds the product will be made available in leading tourist outlets across the country such as Jacks of Fiji, Tappoo and Prouds as well as on Amazon USA where they are seeing a very strong demand for kava in general.
