The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua may be the most watched rugby team in the world as claimed by club CEO Mark Evans who also has revealed that so far this season, they have had 310,000 people watching them play in the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.

And this does not include people watching on television from the comfort of their homes.

Evans said in their first full season in 2022, the club averaged 150,000 devices, which was a rock solid number, but with the numbers they have recorded this year, it is quite something.

With the Drua games being broadcast on free-to-air TV in the country, that projected audience would easily make the team the highest-watched team in Super Rugby Pacific.

He says Fiji is such a disparate country geographically, a third of the population is under 18 across 120 islands.

The Drua will look to draw another big crowd this weekend in the capital city when they take on the Crusaders in round 8 of the Super Rugby Pacific.

The Drua will take on the Crusaders at 3.35pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

In other matches this week, the Chiefs will take on the Reds at 6.05pm Friday, Moana Pasifika will host the Waratahs at 1.05pm Saturday, the Blues will take on the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Saturday and the Force will play the Highlanders at 8.35pm Saturday.
