Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School’s 16 year old rising star, Losalini Raikadroka has claimed gold in the senior girls 100 metres final at the HFC Bank Stadium.
Raikadroka stunned the crowd at the stadium, clinching the blue ribbon title with a time of 12.68 seconds.
The young sprinter from Welagi Village in Taveuni admitted she never expected to win, as this was her first year competing in the 100 metres after previously focusing on the 200 meters.
The Year 13 student says training daily from Qauia Settlement in Lami to the HFC Stadium was not easy, but her perseverance has paid off.
She dedicated her victory to her parents, Ratu Leweni Raikadroka and her mum Ana Qica, for their unwavering support.
