The Australian Women’s 7s side is the champions of the 2024 HSBC Dubai 7s after defeating rivals New Zealand 28-24 in the final this morning.
Australia scored three tries in the first half through Faith Nathan, Isabella Nasser and Teagan Levi to give them a 21-12 lead at halftime.
New Zealand bounced back in the second half, scoring two quick tries from Theresa Setefano and Manaia Nuku to take a 24-21 lead.
Maddison Levi scored through some good passing from the Australians to seal their victory.
Looking at other results, France edged Great Britain 15-12 in the third-place playoff, the USA beat Ireland 17-7 in the fifth-place playoff, and Japan defeated Canada 24-22 in the seventh-place playoff.
The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s lost to Spain 10-0 in the 11th-place playoff.
