The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has claimed a close 33-26 win over the Rugby Football Club Los Angeles in their trial match at Churchill Park in Lautoka this afternoon.
It was an intense battle in the Lautoka heat as the lead changed a few times in the match.
Los Angeles scored the first try of the match with the conversion missing before Isikeli Basiyalo scored an equalizer in the corner.
The visitors scored a converted try before the end of the first quarter to lead the Drua 12-5.
The Drua started the second quarter strongly as they scored a converted try through Tuidraki Samusamuvodre to lock the score at 12-all.
The home side took the lead for the first time with a converted try to Mesulame Dolokoto before Los Angeles scored another converted try to equalize the score.
Both teams were locked at 19-all at the break.
Los Angeles scored another converted try to lead 26-19 before prop Mesake Doge barged over the tryline with a converted try to lock the score at 26-all.
The Drua scored another converted try through Inia Tabuavou which happened to be the winner for the match.
