25-year-old Fiji born Australian weightlifter, Eileen Cikamatana is preparing for the highly anticipated competition in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship at the Vodafone Arena tomorrow.
Cikamatana says she has been lifting weights since she was 14 years old back in her home in Taviya, Ovalau.
She says she is ready to show her strength and dedication following her return to the competition circuit in Fiji after an eight-year break.
The Australian weightlifter says nothing beats the support from the family and with her parents being around to witness her participating tomorrow, it will boost her to another level.
Cikamatana says reflecting on her weightlifting journey, she has learnt a lot of things and she can manage expectations and enjoy the process.
Eileen’s father, Sefanaia Cikamatana Junior says it is a blessing for him and his wife to witness their daughter participating tomorrow after a long time here in Fiji.
