Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne and his coaching staff are working around the clock to get players available for every international test match as possible leading up to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Byrne says there are not a lot of test matches for the Flying Fijians between now and the RWC and they need a consistent squad, as close to a consistent squad as they can get.
He says they are trying to get as many of the players to participate in this year’s Pacific Nations Cup understanding the difficult situation they are in in terms of players moving from one club to another this season.

Byrne says it is all about explaining and letting the players understand where the coaches are coming from, and also giving the players plenty of time to let their clubs know.
He says it is also about the players working with their families to know that they are going to push into the last 13 or 14 test matches before the RWC.
He adds they are going to push in with a very consistent squad.
The Flying Fijians’ first test match of the year will be against the Wallabies on Sunday 6th of July in Newcastle, Australia.
