Bulikula receives $5,000 assistance from Ministry for Women

The Vodafone Fiji Bulikula received a timely boost in their preparation for the 2024 NRL Pacific Rugby League Women’s Bowl Championship after the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, presented a cash assistance of $5,000.

Speaking at the presentation, Tabuya emphasised the importance of fostering respectful and healthy relationships within sports as a vital step in addressing gender-based violence.

She says it is crucial that we teach our young athletes the values of respect, having healthy relationships and integrity, both on and off the field.

Tabuya further inspired the team, quoting Nelson Mandela, “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire, it has the power to unite people.”

The Minister expressed her confidence that the Bulikula will not only represent their country but also serve as role models for young women across Fiji.

Tabuya wished the Team well in their preparations, stating that the entire nation will be supporting and cheering them on as they embark on this significant journey to the Pacific Rugby League Women’s Bowl Championship.

The Fiji Bulikula will host the Cook Islands at 8.10pm next Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji Bati will take on PNG Kumuls at 8.10pm this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
