There is no reason why the Fiji Bula Boys cannot win against the New Zealand All Whites in the semi final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers.
This has been highlighted by Coach Rob Sherman who says the All Whites are full of professionals so they are potentially a little bit fitter and more tactically aware but the game has been littered historically with the small guy beating the big guy.
With a lot of players playing in Europe, including Chris Wood who is with Nottingham Forest, Sherman believes the Fijian players are not overthinking about this.
The Bula Boys take on the All Whites at 6pm this Friday.
Tahiti takes on New Caledonia in the first semi final.
The winner of the final will earn direct qualification for the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup in North America (Canada, Mexico, and the United States).
The runner-up will advance to the intercontinental playoffs, where they will compete for one of the final spots in the tournament.
