The Blues have been dealt with a cruel injury blow in their Super Rugby Aotearoa campaign, with utility forward Tom Robinson having undergone surgery.
The 25-year-old has been a key man in the Blues forward pack since his debut last year.
Robinson suffered a knee injury in the Blues win over the Hurricanes.
With no playoffs in Super Rugby Aotearoa, the eight-week maximum expected recovery period could mean Robinson comes back into contention for the final match of the season against the Crusaders on August 16th.
The Blues will take on the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday while the Chiefs will face the Crusaders at 3.35pm Sunday.
