Fiji Water Flying Fijians flyhalf Caleb Muntz acknowledged his parents for flying into Cardiff to witness him play a pivotal role in Fiji’s historic 24-19 win over Wales this morning.

Muntz was named the Player of the Match after scoring 19 points in the game through 4 penalty kicks at goal and a converted try.

In an after-match interview, Muntz was elated and thanked his parents for their presence.

He says the win this morning means a lot to the team, especially coming into this November tour and playing against some top-tier sides.

Muntz says they had to lick a few wounds after their 57-17 loss to Scotland last week and they were not really happy with how they performed in Murrayfield.

When asked about the final minute of the match where Wales applied the pressure and had a chance to steal a win at the death, Muntz says the players held on and showed up in defence.

Muntz says Wales were 7 metres away from the try line and could have stolen a last-minute win, but the Flying Fijians players held their ground in defence forcing Wales to knock the ball on.

He says it was a great way to end the game in front of a good crowd.

Muntz ran a total of 83 metres in 10 carries which included 2 linebreaks and also beating 5 defenders.

He had a 90 percent tackle rate in defence after making 12 tackles and missing only 1.

Meanwhile, the inclusion of the Northern Hemisphere-based players has also had a huge impact on the team’s performance today.

Fiji will now turn their focus to their 3rd Autumn Series match against Spain at 2am Sunday at Valladolid, Spain.
