This weekend’s HSBC Singapore 7s will see another chapter of the HSBC SVNS World Series rivalry between the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s and the NZ 7s being written as both teams will face off in the pool stages.
Fiji comes into this tournament after a 4th place finish in Hong Kong over the weekend while NZ finished 5th.
Both teams are in Pool D alongside the USA which makes it a pool of death.
The format of the tournament will be the same as the HSBC Cape Town 7s but only one of these sides will remain in the title race as there will be 4 pools with 3 teams in each pool.
The winners from the four pools will progress through to the semi finals which makes both pool matches a must-win game for all teams.
In other pools, current series leaders Argentina is in Pool A alongside Great Britain and South Africa, France is in Pool B with Ireland and Kenya while Australia is in Pool C with Spain and Uruguay.
The fixtures of this tournament are yet to be released.
