9 more national sports organisations will now be able to hold competition.

9 more national sports organisations will now be able to hold competition and events as they have been given Safe Sports Fiji Certification.

These sporting bodies include Shooting Association, Fiji Judo Association, Billiard and Snooker Association, Fiji National Rugby League, Fiji Hockey Federation, Fiji Chess Federation, Fiji Motorsports Association and Touch Federation.

National Sports Commission Chairman Peter Mazey says this will give a huge boost to these organisations in terms of getting revenue from holding sporting events.

He says sponsors for these sporting bodies will also be eligible for the 150% tax deduction.

Mazey says it is also important for people to have the CareFiji App installed as this will reduce the time to enter sports facilities.

Those who do not have the app installed are required to register their information and contact details at the gate.

Meanwhile, Fiji National Rugby League Development Manager Joe Rabele says they will be ensuring that fans maintain social distancing and the facility is at half its capacity.

He says each player will be required to use their individual towels, water bottles and equipment and that players will only go into the field, play rugby and come out.

Fiji Motorsports Association President Raizal Hanif says this certification will ensure the fans and families will be safe when competition resumes this Sunday at Pacific Harbour.

He says they will not have tents erected for spectators and is encouraging families to bring their own tents and remain in them.

36 national sporting organisations now have the Safe Sports Fiji Certification.
