Fiji Pearls fall to second defeat in Pacific Netball Series after close 64-63 loss to Tonga

The Fiji Pearls succumbed to their second defeat of the Pacific Netball Series after a 64-63 narrow loss to the Tongan Tala last night.

The Tongans made a mighty comeback in the last quarter to claim the win after trailing Fiji from the first to the third quarter.

In the first quarter, Fiji led 17-13 in the first quarter, 34-31 in the second quarter and 47-45 in the third quarter but gave it away in the last quarter.

Fiji now sits in third place in the overall Pacific Netball Series table with 4 points from two wins in the first two rounds.

They will take on Namibia at 9 tonight in round 5 of the series at the Nissan Arena in Brisbane.

In other matches last night, First Nations Aus defeated Namibia 45-41 and Samoa defeated Singapore 65-46.
