Heleina Young of Saint Joseph’s Secondary school will be the female athlete to watch at next week’s Coca Cola Games.
Young was a key athlete for her school last year and proved herself after being part of the Team Fiji Athletics team to the Pacific Games in PNG.
She has set another benchmark for her competitors this year after running a record time of 12.18 seconds in the Suva Zone 2 junior girls 100 metres event.
Young also won gold in the 200 metres junior girls final at the Suva Zone 2.
Another Saint Joseph’s Secondary school athlete to watch will be Tamara Patrick who won the intermediate girls 100 metres final with a time of 12.96 seconds at the Suva Zone 2.
Patrick is making a comeback after 2 years.
Leilani Vatubua will also be an athlete to look out for in the sub‑junior girls 100 metres event.
The Coca Cola Games will be held from next Thursday to Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
