No seven point tries were scored, but World Series Rugby made good on its promise to entertain in the Western Force's 24‑14 win over the Fiji Warriors at a packed nib Stadium last night.
The Force ran in four tries to two in front of 19,466 fans.
The on field play was fast and furious, and the off field entertainment was also a success.
On the field, the Force scored three tries in the first half to race out to a 19‑0 lead.
The only sour note in the first half was a serious concussion to former Springbok Peter Grant.
Fiji scored two tries in the second half to give themselves a sniff, but left their run too late.
Seven point ‘power tries' were on offer for any team who could launch an attack from inside their defensive 22m and score without turning it over.
Neither team was able to pull it off, but the concept added a little extra interest to the clash.
