The Nadroga Rugby Union has stated that it will not feature in this weekend’s HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan Trophy match against Naitasiri Northern Bulls if the Fiji Rugby Union does not keep its promise.
This comes after Nadroga demanded FRU to clear the issue in relation to their gate takings starting from the Skipper Cup final before last week’s match against Suva.
An urgent meeting was then called after which the FRU paid $16,000 to the Nadroga Rugby Union for their share of the gate takings of the Skipper Cup final.
Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawawalu confirms to Fijivillage that FRU promised them that it would pay their share of gate takings from the first Farebrother Challenge match this week.
Matawalu hopes that good sense will prevail and they would not want to repeat what they did last week which left a lot of fans raising concerns on whether the game will go ahead this week.
Matawalu said they have given FRU until midday Friday before they make their final decision.
Meanwhile, the Nadroga Rugby Union is still awaiting confirmation from FRU on whether the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge match this week will be played at the Ra Sports ground
