Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu is one of five players in the 32-man Rugby World Cup squad who are in line for their third tournament, having featured in five Rugby World Cup matches across New Zealand in 2011 and England in 2015.
Prop Campese Ma’afu, second‑row Leone Nakarawa, winger Vereniki Goneva – who last week became Fiji's all‑time leading try‑scorer in test rugby and full‑back Kini Murimurivalu also travelled with the Flying Fijians to the Rugby World Cups in New Zealand and England.
Of the players named by Coach John McKee, 15 could make their Rugby World Cup debuts in Japan.
Those players include rugby league convert Semi Radradra and Lyon winger Josua Tuisova.
The Flying Fijians are hoping for a first quarter‑final appearance in 12 years.
The Flying Fijians will face Tonga on the 31st of this month at Eden Park before taking on the Wallabies on the 21st of next month in their first pool match at 4.45pm.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Uruguay .
The Rugby World Cup will be held from the 20th of next month to the 2nd of November.
