Fiji Airways Flying Fijians Coach John McKee says Dominiko Waqaniburotu’s transition into the role of captain has been seamless as he is a highly respected member of the team.

McKee says they have a leadership group of six players and if the group is effective it will take a lot of pressure off Waqaniburotu because they play a huge role in driving the behaviour and values of the team.

The 32-year-old is not new to the role as he first captained the Flying Fijians in 2010 after Deacon Manu left.

He has played for Waikato in the ITM Cup and currently plays for Brive in France.

The Flying Fijians are currently camping in Toulouse in France before they head to Scotland for their first match on the tour.

Scotland and Fiji have played each other a total of seven times of which Scotland has won five times and lost twice.

These two teams have only faced each other once in the Rugby World Cup which was in 2003.

Scotland won this match 22‑20.

The Flying Fijians last played Scotland in Murrayfield in 2009 and 9 years on they will play at the same stadium infront of a sell out crowd.

Scottish media reports the sell‑out for Fiji means the crowd will be 30,000 higher than the previous record for this fixture set in 2002, and 45,000 more than the last time Fiji played at the home of Scottish rugby in 2009.

Fiji will play Scotland at 3.30am next Sunday at Murrayfield Stadium.

Fiji will then play Uruguay on the 18th of this month while our last game is against France on the 25th of this month.
