Children at the Lautoka Children’s Ward had reason to smile this morning as they spent time with the Vodafone National U23 Football team as part of its community outreach program.
The children were entertained by the players where they spent time talking, colouring books and singing together.
It was also an emotional time for the team as they learnt of the struggles the children were facing.
Players and officials handed out gift packs to the children admitted at the hospital.
Fiji will take on Tonga at 3pm tomorrow at Churchill Park.
Meanwhile, Solomon Islands have thrashed American Samoa 6-0 in the opening match of the OFC Men’s Olympic Qualifier tournament this afternoon at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Solomon Islands led 4-0 at half time.
Solomon Islands will now play Samoa at 12pm this Tuesday at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
