Vodafone Fiji Limited has given the Fiji Football Association a sponsorship of $200,000 for the Vodafone Premier League this year.
This is an increase of $50,000 of sponsorship.
The launch for this year’s league took place this morning in Vatuwaqa.
All eight premier soccer teams will get $5,000 each while senior teams will receive $2,500 for preparation for their league matches.
The winning prize money has not been revealed.
The CEO of the Fiji Football Association Mohammed Yusuf says the sponsorship will also see the Under 16 and Under 18 girls and boys league running together with the Premier competition.
It was also announced today that Fiji FA’s Technical Director Ravinesh Kumar is the first local to receive the A license coach certificate and his aim now will be to coach the premier and senior teams coaches.
The Vodafone Premier League kicks off this weekend with Lautoka playing Tavua, Rewa will face Suva and Ba will take on Nadi.
All matches will be played at 3pm this Sunday.
